Salu2.

Genre: Drama
Year...................: 2000
Country....................: USA
Language.................: English
Director.............: Mimi Leder
Cast............: Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt, Haley Joel Osment,
Jay Mohr, James Caviezel,
Jon Bon Jovi, Angie Dickinson

Like some other kids, 12-year-old Trevor McKinney believed in the goodness of human nature. Like many other kids, he was determined to change the world for the better. Unlike most other kids, he succeeded

A school social studies assignment leads to social changes that spread from city-to-city. Assigned to come up with some idea that will improve mankind, a young boy (Haley Joel Osment) decides that if he can do three good deeds for someone and they in turn can "pay it forward" and so forth, positive changes can occur. What appears to initially be a failure, is indeed a success that is not immediately known but is traced backwards by a reporter who is a benefactor. The initial recipients of the boy are a drug addict (James Cavaziel), his badly scarred school teacher (Kevin Spacey), and a classmate who is constantly bullied by his peers. While physically and mentally scarred by past events, the teacher is not the only one bearing scars. The young boy fears his mother's fate, particularly at his brutal, alcoholic father's (Jon Bon Jovi) hands. The mother also bears scars from her childhood with a homeless, alcoholic mother (Angie Dickinson)

"Pay It Forward" is an inspirational, issue-driven drama centered on three emotionally battered people who challenge their personal limitations --and in the process develop the possibility of changing society itself. It's an unusual film that intelligently avoids numerous potential pitfalls even if its central earnestness is ultimately inescapable. With a top-flight cast led by recent Oscar winners Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt, along with Haley Joel Osment, again outstanding in his first feature since "The Sixth Sense," Warner Bros. has everything it needs to promote this serious-minded, well-acted picture as one of the major prestige releases of the fall. Critical reaction will certainly be varied, and the mass audience will similarly have diverse reactions to the climactic moments, which will prove intensely moving to some viewers and too grim for others. Commercial prospects generally look strong
