SINOPSIS
Ellie Andrews, una joven y caprichosa heredera, consigue escapar del yate de su padre, que la había encerrado para evitar su boda con un hombre poco recomendable. En el autobús que coge, con destino a Nueva York, conoce a Peter Warne, un simpático y atractivo reportero, que busca una buena historia. "Sucedió una noche" es uno de los títulos fundamentales de la comedia de los años 30. Considerada habitualmente la primera 'screwball comedy', es posible que la rapidez y perfección de sus herederas, las obras maestras de Hawks, Cukor, Sturges o la Cava, sea la causa de que, a ojos del espectador actual, su ritmo resulte algo lento. Con todo, se trata de una magnífica película sobre dos personajes condenados a entenderse. Las chispas que despiden los encuentros entre el simpático sinvergüenza Clark Gable y la encantadoramente mimada Claudette Colbert se convierten en inevitables sonrisas en la cara del espectador.
