"After his father's death Miklós Toldi who has got inhuman strength is treated as a servant at home by his older brother. When Miklós asks for his heritage (his father's weapons and armor), he becomes a mockery and his brother orders his servants to throw spears on him. After a spear hits him at the shoulder Miklós gets angry and throws a millstone between the servants. A servant dies and Miklós has to escape".
"He finds out that a wandering champion wearing a bull-horned helmet has arrived at the king's court to challenge everyone who dares to fight him. After some rounds of fight (always ending with defeat and death for the enemy of the bull-horned). Miklós wants to challenge him but he hasn't got weapons. After a long search for her son one night his mother finally finds him and gives him his father's weapons. Miklós challenges the champion, wins the battle and kills the enemy by necessity".
"Miklós becames a knight of the king and fights a glorious battle against the country's enemy. After that he prays to the "Knight-King" (a spirit-like creature symbolizing honour and virtue) and swears that he will always walk the path of classical knightly virtues".
"At a joust for a beautiful lady's hand he offers his help to a knight who hasn't got so good abilities as him because he doesn't care about women. He wins the joust in the clothes of the other knight but in the end he realizes that the beauty of the girl has captured his heart. He even feels ashamed because of cheating at the joust".
"The king has been called to the (an other country's) emperor's court to yield. The king orders his knights to escort him in disguise and with that trick they are trapping the emperor. The emperor offers peace and his daughter and the king accepts it. Miklós feels guilty again".
"He leaves the emperor's city and gets prisoned by the children of the champion in the bull-horned helmet he has killed before. He escapes and finds the girl he has fought for at the joust. Miklós confronts the girl's husband - the knight he's offered his help at the joust before - and kills him. After that the woman refuses Miklós and he goes to work at a monastery as a serving friar".
"The king's wife dies so he needs a new woman. He chooses the wife of an other country's king. Miklós doesn't agree with the king's intentions but he goes to fight for the king because he hopes for royal pardon (for killing the other knight) and forgiveness of the loved woman. The king wins the war but after the victory - as a punishment from God - plague hits the country. Miklós's beloved dies".
"The times are changing. Miklós realizes that the new world order doesn't needs him nor the values he stands for. He realizes that man always trying to be good but sometimes his desires are befouling his intentions. He dies and with him morality and virtue leaves this world".
