Adaptation of a social tale by Jiri Wolker - a classical piece of Czech animated cinematography. A millionaire who owns a whole town, its factories and workers, falls ill. The surgeons tell him that sunshine is the only cure for him. The millionaire orders the sun to be taken down from the sky and put in a metal enclosure to shine only for himself. However, when he closes himself with the sun in the enclosure, he dies due to the sunshine. The enclosure falls apart and the sun runs down the hill to the town. A girl finds it, puts it on her toy-cart and takes it back to the sky to shine for everybody.[/quote]

O milionári, který ukradl slunce (El millonario que robó el sol) es uno de mis cortos favoritos desde siempre.
Me gusta su estética en blanco y negro, con esos rasgos expresionistas que recuerdan en ocasiones los dibujos de Grosz.
Dirigido por Zdenek Miler, un director que pasará a la historia de la animación por ser el credor de Krtek, una serie excelente (posteada en DXC) que hacía un magnífico uso del color.
Dada la imposibilidad de conseguir un ripeo en condiciones, el archivo en cuestión es el resultado de recodificar un FLV descargado de YouTube y la calidad no es gran cosa, como ya podeis imaginar, pero es lo que hay y el corto bien lo vale.
