The Russian picture SOSEDI (director Stepan Birukov), a story about the inhabitants of a "communal" flat, which takes place in Moscow in the 1930s, can boast many different influences, which in this instance is a highly positive assessment that bespeaks the author's culture. Were the Bulgakov-Chagall vision contribute nothing but the episode with the officer, who floats under the ceiling and whom the draught sweeps through the window to the street, it would be worth while.
