Shakespere: The animated tales

Serie de animación coproducida en Gales y Rusia.
Cubierta del DVD:
Embraced by audiences in over 50 countries, acclaimed by critics and the recipient of 3 EMMY Awards and a New York Festival Gold Award, "Shakespeare The Animated Tales" is an invigorating collection of 12 of the bard's most beloved tales, brought to life in specially commissioned, 30 minute adaptations by some of the world's leading cinematic artists and technicians.
Adapted by renowned author and Shakespeare scholar Leon Garfield, in collaboration with leading academic lights, these beautiful, dramatic and rewarding tales are masterly abridged renditions of the classic texts, fully faithful to the narrative and language that makes Shakespeare the most loved and respected playwright history has ever produced.
Painstakingly designed and meticulously rendered each play is characterised by some of the country's finest acting talent, including Felicity Kendal, Alun Armstrong, Joss Ackland, Jenny Agutter, Zoe Wanamaker, Timothy West, Hugh Grant and Martin Jarvis, who lend pathos, comedy and a staggering humanity to these wonders of artistry.

Four plays are produced using puppets and stop-frame animation (“The Tempest,” “The Winters Tale,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” “Twelfth Night”), five use standard cell animation (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Julius Caesar,” “Romeo & Juliet,” “Othello,” “Macbeth”), two employ the haunting technique of painting on glass (“Hamlet,” “King Richard III”) and one uses painting in oils on cels (“As You Like It”). The design styles themselves range from heavily shadowed and crosshatched wood-cuts (for the darker plays) to bright and cheery costumed affairs (for the comedies), and from highly realistic animations to highly stylized ones.

He aquí los enlaces.
