It has been a terribly long time since I posted anything, I can only blame too much work

Anyway, here is an impressive little known short from Ishu Patel. Somewhat different to the rest of his work (that I know), this animation is in oil paint on glass. It tells the story of a poor family of farmers who live in a drought stricken third world nation. They are desperate for their government to send them a water pump so they can survive the drought, but their government has other issues it considers as being of top priority compared to the needs of farmers. It is a clear politically motivated piece, very different to the rest of Patel's work although the politics apply to any country where those in charge see weapons as being more useful than the basic health of their population. An animation for those who like to think...
Please be aware that this animation is missing the first 10 seconds due to somebody (no names to protect the innocent) ... not pressing the record button on the VCR fast enough...

However this does not affect the film's narrative. Also the VHS tape is rather old that this came from and the recording is not the best quality, but it is an interesting animation and is rarely shown so I think there are many here who would enjoy it.
