Hello Everyone

You will almost certainly know Jonathan Hodgson's work from the enthralling animation "The Man With The Beautiful Eyes". One of his early animations is Night Club, a fascinating look at the subculture of early 1980s British Night Clubs! The subject matter could apply to any club in any time or any place; it is full of the sorts of people you usually try to avoid! There is no direct narrative as such, we, the viewer float through the nightclub space as if we were actually pushing through the crowds of people overhearing fragments of conversations, glancing at people dancing and trying to order a drink at the bar!

Hodgson's later style can be seen in an early form here, the figures twist and stretch and mutate as they are drawn from frame to frame, although the incredibly saturated palette takes some getting used to if you are aware of the more subtle colouration in his more recent work. A little something for those of you who enjoy a bit of experimentation :cast: well, maybe not that sort of experimentation...

One note - there isn't any English spoken dialogue, but the animator has drawn English speech in the forms of text that moves around the screen - however it's not Shakespeare; it's very easy to read!
