Short animated movie directed by Walerian Borowczyk in collaboration with Chris Marker, released in 1959.
It is about a spare time inventor who designs and builds a spaceship in his little house. Once completed, he jumps in and goes for adventure.The animation is mostly performed composing together cuttings from photographs, newspapers and other similar stuff.
Chris Marker is a writer, photographer, film director, multi-media artist and documentary maker. Born in Paris, his real name is Christian François Bouche- Villeneuve. He is best known for having directed the cult movie La Jetée.
Walerian Borowczyk was a Polish film director. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, then moved in France. He directed 40 films between 1946 and 1988. His early films were surreal animations, some only a few seconds long. Borowczyk moved then into live-action feature films, most of them being on an erotic subject, including an episode of the Emmanuelle series.
