A film adaptation of the wise fairy-tales written and told by Jan Werich and recorded on records. An ode to wit and cleverness, the story is about an ordinary man who beats the bureaucratically thorough and persistent devil.

A fairy-tale from the famous Werich's "Fimfarum". The protagonists are the stingy Barka and the other citizens of Dejvice where nothing is given but everything is stolen and envied. So it is more a current story then a fairy-tale. Like all of Werich's fairy-tales, this one is also full of humour and wisdom. The commentary was performed by the author himself.
