(The Perfect War)
(Usa, 2004) [Color, 60 + 60 m.]
Episodio 2:In this programme we ask, could the "perfect war" eventually be a conflict that's over before it begins?
The Perfect War looks at the technology driving the new future of war using footage from recent conflicts and featuring exclusive interviews with important figures including Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.
Soldiers, strategists and sceptics ask whether America's newest military technology represents a total transformation in warfare, or if over-reliance on hi-tech weaponry could potentially see the United States vulnerable to a stronger enemy?
Emitida por el Canal de Historia en la primavera de 2007.The US military started using more advanced technology following 9/11 not only to avoid surprise attacks in the future, but to improve speed, precision and information.
The US military use special sensors to realistically imagine battlefields for strategy purposes, while highly advanced bombs have a higher precision causing shock to the enemy in an attempt to make them surrender.
This programme investigates whether these new technologies, while advantageous in winning a war, could be at the cost of starting one, such as the war on Iraq in 2003.
