I have found Ernest Lubitsch's Forbidden Paradise (1924) on emule. It is the Czech print, without sound. I don't know very much about it. It is not a great print.

Storyline

Forbidden Paradise is a 1924 American silent drama film produced by Famous Players-Lasky and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was directed by German film director Ernst Lubitsch. The film is based on a 1922 Broadway play, The Czarina, by Edward Sheldon, who adapted the Hungarian language book by Melchior Lengyel and Lajos Bíró. The play starred Doris Keane, in one of her last stage roles, as Catherine the Great. Basil Rathbone co-starred with Keane. The film starred Pola Negri as Catherine the Great and Rod La Rocque in the Rathbone role. The film marked Clark Gable's second film appearance.

Después de tres años, sigo sin encontrar una versión mejor ni subtítulo alguno. ¿Se puede aportar luz al respecto?

No sé realmente si hay alguna "versión mejor", compañero..

Realmente... de las mudas de Hollywood de Lubitsch hay algunas "duras" de ver ("Rosita", que creo estaban restaurando o restaurada, ésta misma que nos ocupa ...). De hecho en USA hay varias copias (o al menos un par) y ninguna "para tirar cohetes". Y por debajo subyace la "no-rentabilidad" (triste, pero aquí la "industria" gana al "arte").

De todos modos, cuando regrese a casa (ahora mismo esta conexión es "a costa de mi jefe ") miro lo que tengo. No creo que nada mejor. Esta parece la pésima copia checa que circula por internet. Y si algún compañero tiene algo... , a mí tambien me gustaría..
