A silly prince wants to marry a beautiful peasant girl. His guards kidnap her, but the girl escapes and returns to her beloved. Meanwhile, a UFO lands in the kingdom and the aliens witness nuisances, court intrigues, and lies. They are not allowed to meddle in other people`s affairs, but they still influence the happy ending.
I liked watching this movie, it is one of a very few Bulgarian science fiction/fantasy films made. Of course, visually it does not offer any particularly "fascinating", flashy graphic effects. The main strength as I see it is the script, which is quite intriguing, just as a good fantasy script should be. Points of reference would be the the StarWars series, to which "Trinaistata Godenica na Princa" pays homage - with the spaceboy's flashing sword, and the weird-talking robot. The action however takes place in a wacky Middle-Age kingdom, with the aliens studying closely the intrigues and extreme greed, but also the true passion of love. Well, the film does not seem very serios, but gives you something to think about. Good movie, not strictly for kids.
This is one of the most funny Bulgarian movies ever made. The plot is a unique mixture of fantasy and a Middle Ages adventure. It's all filled with memorable characters, some even grotesque, plus some very funny jokes. It's basically a kids' movie, but a good entertainment for adults as well.
(A Bulgarian cult film? Sci-Fi like those crazy turkish parodies? Maybe not so bad, still interesting.)
