Synopsis:

World War II. Orksana a young Ukrainian woman becomes a well-known singer. In spite of her success in Europe, she doesn't forget her beloved back home. The war separates the lovers. Called to the front, Anton is wounded, and captured first by the Germans, then by the Americans. But Orksana is convinced he's still alive.

Commentary:

Opera is at the heart of a film influenced by Douglas Sirk's American melodramas. "The many flashbacks disrupt the chronology: the past is unveiled in bits and pieces, out of order, so that the first appearances of certain secondary characters (and some secondary places) retain all their mystery and all their power." (Joel Magny - Les Cahiers du Cinéma. Décembre 1988).

In the worst case, I have ITA subbed copies of both these movies from Rai3 (they are both awesome ), so sooner or later I could make a tvrip of them... but it could take a long time, so if possible go get the torrents...

Por cierto, como veréis en el nombre de los ficheros, son TVrips ;buena calidad, de imagen, pero el paso de los años se nota en la copua, sobre todo en el color. VO, con subs incrustados en francés.

Yes, this is true, they're regular propaganda movies, with plots and characters and ideology and all the rest. But they shine with talent and well worth seeing imo.
