Through all propositions, Carsten Höller declines a sort of catalog of the feelings and the human drives: the love, the dedication, the friendship but also the egoism, the envy(urge), the cruelty. On the ironic and rough base of one of the last taboos of our society, the infanticide, "Jenny" is the merciless narrative of our projections of murder and sadism towards the children.

It is here the project of the single man (interpreted by the very artist) who consists in putting traps, in poisoning, in deceiving or in flooding innocents. A gesture which can also be read as a questioning opened by the scientific principles of reproduction, where the child defines himself as a vehicle through time and the space of the embarrassment of his parents. Under a fragmentary shape, Carsten Höller loosens with this film without outcome a sort of cold methodology and looks at the main part of our representation of the childhood, in brief a protected, inalienable and untouchable world based on a common faith of the future of the man, its survival and its progress.
