Canada, 2002, 110 min. • Director: Rodrigue Jean
Max and Linda escape in the direction of the Canadian North-West. On the road, that takes them from Moncton to Yellowknife, they meet up with a couple of twin strippers and make acquaintance with Marlene, a faded night-club singer, who is accompanied by her manager Johnny. Among these rootless, drifting souls, revealed here in their most rough and enigmatic state, complicated and fragile relationships are woven, which takes each of them to the edge of what remains of a desperate passion.
Estoy buscando esta película que ví hace 3 años en Donosti, diríamos que no le dediqué toda mi atención.Director´s annotation: After studying Biology, Sociology and Literature Rodrigue Jean became interested in quite different fields - Dance and Choreography. From the end of the 80s he began to realize his vision through the medium of film. His first feature film Full Blast (1999) won an array of prizes, including special prize for the best Canadian film shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. Yellowknife is his second feature film.
After pursuing theater and film direction studies in London, he shot his first short film. His documentary "La voix des rivieres" won the Telefim Canada prize, while "La memoire de l’eau" was screened at numerous international festivals. His first feature, "Full Blast", was a great success in Canada.
