Bueno, tiene alguna cosilla y tal pero me parece que Don Martin la ha cagado, tal vez se ha esforzado demasiado en querer dar la impresión de que sigue siendo joven y que tiene tanta fuerza como antes. Pero si de verdad lo fuera no haría falta tal esfuerzo. Hay otras cosas como el penoso casting... y cuidado, que Di Caprio y Damon no me parecen malos del todo en otras películas, sí el infumable Whalberg o A. Baldwin. Nicholson va según gustos, no me preocupa de manera especial aquí, Vera Farmiga es mala con avaricia, por no hablar de los actores de relleno jovencitos, entre todos dan la sensación de una película teen espantosa.

El material de partida es bueno y Martin es brillante en su oficio, pero no esta vez. Lo que debería ser el clímax al final parece un chiste ridículo. Tanta vuelta de argumento para intentar exponer el sacrificio, cierta idea de la justicia, la influencia y el poso de la infancia en la edad adulta, la confusión y los flujos entre el bien y el mal... salpicado con tópicos tan escacharrantes como el sexual, la impotencia de uno contra la previsible exuberancia fálica del otro y el bebé como resultado de la contienda.
