ARGUMENTO:
The protagonist is Tony Reagan (Scott Brady), a former Chicago mobster and ex-con who is vacationing in Reno at a lodge in the beginning of the film.He bumps into an old friend/former colleague from Chicago, named Danny Morgan (Jack Russell). They announce to each other that they are both engaged to be married. On his way home to Chicago Reagan shares the flight with a Chicago schoolteacher, Ann McKnight (Peggy Dow) whom he have met at a Reno casino and helped her win at the gambling table. When Reagan arrives home he is met by the police. It seems that Reagan is a suspect as a potential trouble maker due to his past dispute with a Chicago mob kingpin, Big Jim, his fiancee's uncle. After meeting with the police [who put a tail on him , which he shakes on the Chicago Elevated train, ] Reagan meets up with his bride -to-be, Sally Lee (Dorothy Hart). He tells her he will go to Big Jim to make peace with him. When the uncle is murdered, Reagan is framed for the murder. While on the runfrom both the police and from the unknown murderers, Reagan enlists the help of Miss McKnight and an old time buddy, Charles Recklilng Bruce Bennett, who is a detective on the force. They discover the truth: Morgan is also engaged to Sally Lee, and together they are responsible for murdering uncle and framing Reagan. Naturally, Reagan and McKnight end up in each other's arms, bound to that lodge in Reno....

Undertow es un thriller de 1949 dirigido por William Castle, protagonizada por Scott Brady, Peggy Dow, Bruce Bennett, Dorothy Hart y John Russell. Es la historia de un ex convicto, un ex mafioso de Chicago, quien es acusado del asesinato de un jefe de alto rango de Chicago. La película también marca la segunda película que disponen de un joven actor llamado Rock Hudson y la primera en la que recibió un crédito de la película por su trabajo.
