Martin Ritt made movies about real people. "Hud" was a bastard and "Norma Rae" an unlikely heroine, but their humanity was never in question.

"Sounder" is perhaps the 'realist' of the real, as its just a simple story of sharecroppers in the South trying to live their lives.

There is not a shred of cheap sentiment, but that does not mean that its not emotionally gripping..far from it, actually. I screamed at the television at least twice (once very loudly; the lady who lives upstairs must have been so pleased) at some of the injustices on-screen. I felt that I wanted these people to have some happiness and contentment, just like all humans (well..most anyway. I have yet to see proof that Republicans are human so I don't count them).

Its strange that Ritt didn't get a Best Director Oscar nomination since it racked up noms in all major categories, and in that area no injustices were exercised. 9/10.

Bueno en vista del poco exito de la pelicula la voy a retirar del incoming pues esta ocupando un espacio muy necesitado.Es una pena que desdeñeis asi una peli de ritt, a pesar de la version orginial.
Es raro no ver aqui a tragamuvis o bluegardenia, las dos unicas personas que se han llevado todos mis ripeos en V.O.

Es que lo de la VO "a pelo" es un handicap muy gordo para los que no dominamos el idioma...

Buenas sampesan yo tampoco lo domino, y trabajo no ha sido demasiado pues solo la descague de otro lado para asi poder completar la filmo de Ritt.
Pero en fin es lo que hay, gracias por oir mis lamentos

Pinchada, thelion. He hecho algo de espacio y me he decidido. Con tal de verla de una vez por todas, no importa el idioma, aunque estuviese en mandarín!! Por suerte, con el inglés me defiendo bien... Salu2, amigo! En el hilo de Ci-Cl también dejo mi agradecimiento por este enorme ripeo!!
