Hi, Malachihcala, welcome to DXC.
Also, thanks for sharing this "hidden gem".
Still, not a as a personal criticism, needless to say, but in order to improve the quality of your rips, let me point out some not-too-correct technical issues in this rip:
- It's badly cropped on the left, as can easily be noticed int the first screen. This also affects the AR of the image, which according to IMDb is 1.20:1, not 1.47:1.
- 352x240 is a resolution far too small. You shouldn't fall under 480 (more or less) pixels of horizontal resoltion in full screen releases. If the compressability of the source is very low (which can happen in some older releases), then go for a bigger size of the avi. A certain minimum quality of the picture should always be a more important issue than size when encoding a dvdrip.
- The original audio is mono (again, acccording to IMDb, but also keep in mind that stereo audio hadn't been invented yet in 1931), and it's considered very recommendable to encode mono audios as mono, in order to save disk space.
I understand that you've probably used an automatic encoding programme, such as AutoGK, and so the issue of mono/stereo audio can't be solved (in order to encode mono audio you should use a programme such as BeSweet). But the other issues might be solved with a new encode. So, would it be possible that yhou repeat it?
Anyway, thanks for sharing, and welcome to DXC once again.
