Synopsis: Originally released in India as Apur Sansar, The World of Apu was the last of Satyajit Ray's "Apu Trilogy." Pather Panchali (1955) covered Apu's early years in his native village, while Aparajito (1956) detailed his school years and the tragedy that temporarily brought him back home. Now Apu (Soumitra Chatterjee), having abandoned college due to lack of money, hopes to find success as a writer. He is sidetracked from this goal when he meets Aparna (Sharmila Tagore), whose impending wedding is canceled when the groom turns out to be mentally unstable. To save Aparna from a custom-dictated life of spinsterhood, Apu marries her himself. When she dies giving birth, the grieving Apu cannot bring himself to meet his son, and in fact deserts the boy for five years before learning how to gracefully accept his lot in life. Like the other entries in the trilogy, The World of Apu was based on Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhaya's semi-autobiographical novel Aparajito. In the manner typical of his earlier works, director Ray adopts a straightforward, realistic approach, avoiding any sort of attention-getting directorial techniques, the better to simply tell his story.

Pues tengo las 3 películas de la trilogía ripeadas en mi disco duro desde hace algún tiempo.
Si no se me adelantan pondré Pather Panchali dentro de poco, en cuanto acabe de traducir los subtítulos, ya me falta poco.
Y después Aparajito, por supuesto.

De momento os recomiendo que bajéis 'El mundo de Apu' (Apur Sansar), que es una película increíble. Y a ver si alguien se anima a traducir los subtítulos .

Y ya de paso, decir a los Satyajitadictos que también está la fabulosa Jalsaghar - El salón de música, un VHSrip con subtítulos aparte (?) en inglés y calidad decente, por lo que he podido previsualizar, aunque la única fuente se conecta poco y va lentísima.

Bueno yo ando bastante interesado en ver la famosa trilogia de este director (no se si se nota,jejeje). Ya puse a bajar esta na mas verla en fileheaven y estoy con el segundo cd de charulata (q tiene pocas fuentes, por eso estoy esperando a ver si el salon de musica se extiende algo mas antes de pincharla).

Hombre pedritus!, ya me habia quedao con tu nick en fileheaven diciendo q estabas preparando esta trilogia . Que sepas que en cuanto este ya me veras en tu cola de uploads (con lo impaciente q estoy es posible que aparezca incluso antes de que la pongas jajaja)

COMPLETA Y COMPARTIENDO. La pongo en lanzamiento y rebajo la prioridad del resto de mi incoming, aunk visto lo visto (y esto es increible) a Presto y sus colegas no les hace falta mucha ayuda "humana".

En fin, si hay pocas fuentes, lo mejor sería ir avisando de cómo va la bajada para no q no retire nadie la copia antes de tiempo, ok?
