One of the rare fabled hidden treasure noir movies that actually lives up to the billing, NIGHTMARE ALLEY is nothing less than Tyrone Power's most devastating performance and is probably the single greatest movie about the carny trade ever released. Bleak and cynical about many things from psychoanalysis to relational fidelity, the movie is ironically also full of heart as personified by the true blue Colleen Gray. Her honesty and virtue initially destroys Tyrone Power when she fails him on a scam, but she ultimately saves him after he crawls back from the abyss in the delirious and unforgettable finale.
This is a movie full of prurient and ghastly moments, but also of surprisingly quiet and tender ones, and it handles both with surprising aplomb. Tyrone Power's astonishing acting alone would make this one worth seeking out. Combined with Gresham's top notch script, the wonderfully vivid circuslike atmosphere and uniformly excellent performances (almost forgot to mention Joan Blondell's wickedly seductive turn as a psychoanalyst with a hypnotically deadly patter), this has to be one of the top five noir movies currently unavailable

El audio en Español que CKDexterHeaven sincronizó para el ripeo VH-PROD:
debería encajar con un delay de unos 12100 ms, pues tuve que retrasar los subtítulos 12.1 segundos respecto al ripeo VH-Prod para que sincronizasen bien (décima arriba o abajo).
