I finally ripped Flaming Creatures. I didn't add any more information about the film. I am terribly busy and do nothing. This is the only movie that is banned in New York. Jack Smith was favorite filmmaker of Warhol, etc.. It could be written lots of things..

Described by Smith as "a comedy set in a haunted music studio," this carnal polysexual explosion of filmic terrain literally caused reactions as if to a bomb threat--from the 1964 unanimous decision by the jury of Belgium's Third International Experimental Film Competition that "the showing of it was impossible in regard to Belgian laws" to the 1967 opinion of Chief Justice Warren (U.S. Supreme Court) that the film was "not within the protections of the First Amendment" because of its "utter [lack of] social value." Flaming Creatures is lauded by many as the most radical and influential film experiment to emerge from the period.

In this, his best known film, characters cavort in a setting reminiscent of the court of Ali Baba, with a mood suggestive of the paintings of Heironymous Bosch. The film is a quasi-documentary of Androgynes and Transvestites in which flaccid penises and bouncing breasts are so ambiguously equated as to disarm any distinction between male and female. In Flaming Creatures, Smith manages to combine the ornate imagination of his youth with the realities of adult fantasy. Stars Francis Francine, Joel Markman, and others; sound by Tony Conrad.

me recuerda un poco a peter joel witkin en la estética... y lo que tengo claro es que la copia que rula por la mula de flaming creatures tiene una calidad espantosa viendo las fotos originales. yo pensaba que era así.
