well this is a start of a kind of collection, I hope, I'm conducting an extensive research on cinema Mexperimental, as the name says it's Mexican experimental movies, but not all mexican, well, experimental cinema from the south of america, wich includes Jodorowsky, Arrabal, Corkidi, Gelsen Gas and a few others. There already a few films posted on edk2 and I intend to post more, this a request, to whom may know any information regarding the retrieval of Mexperimetal cinema, any format including Beta, DV, 8mm, super8, 16mm, any digital compression, bootlegs anything, any information is good.

really interesant post frizcarraldo, i dont know anythig about mexican cinema. It was on dixclasico but its dificult donwload all post that there are. I will download in shot time the shorts, thanks. I know more interesant short about spanish artist but its very dificult see it on web or edk link. maybe some day we can found it. this two cultures are nearby than we think.

• Una monja en patines escribe con spray profecías sobre la muerte del rock and roll en las paredes de ciudad de México. Las hojas suculentas y angulosas de la planta del maguey bailan al ritmo de la 11ª sinfonía de Shostakovich. Una bromista feminista causa estragos en una orden monástica al añadir LSD a la bebida del prior. El cine experimental mexicano ridiculiza las formas establecidas y subvierte anárquicamente lo convencional.
  
  El cine Mexperimental comienza al final de la revolución mexicana cuando la cámara de cine se convirtió en una herramienta para proyectos nacionalistas y utópicos de artistas e intelectuales. La serie amplía el tradicional enfoque exclusivamente norteamericano y europeo del cine de vanguardia y presenta una serie de prácticas cinematográficas alternativas que van desde la influencia de Sergei Eisenstein al período mexicano de Luis Buñuel, examinando las afinidades del cine experimental mexicano con los surrealistas europeos, la animación abstracta y más recientemente, prácticas de cine de oposición de Latinoamérica y más allá. La serie parte desde las obras contraculturales de los años 60 hasta la más reciente generación de experimentos formales no comerciales, presentando también obras de realizadores de cine experimental americano para quienes México es un lugar de exploración y fuente de iconografía mítica.

  A significant aspect of Mexican intellectual thought has reflected on the tragic dimensions of national identity, with specific emphasis on the figuration of the indigenous as long-suffering and stoic. Mexican critic Roger Bartra has dissected the discourse on Mexicanidad, and suggested the disparities in class between the philosophers and those who they claim to represent. The films and videos in this program employ the signs of Mexicanidad with irony, social gest, and excess.
