The Revenge of the Red Balloon (2000)
France/United States | 8:00
Director: Gregg Rossen

In this homage to the French classic short film The Red Balloon, The Balloon returns to hunt down those nasty little garcons who popped him 40 years ago.
If you still remember Albert Lamorisse's timeless 34 min masterpiece--"The Red Balloon", you will love this lovely sequel.

Honors:
Pixie Award for Best Score

Animator: Georges Schwizgebel

Beautiful, hand-painted animation gracefully mingles with an accordion-squeezed waltz to create a lyrical journey evoking the passage of time.

Fragile (1998)
Luxembourg | 8:30
Animator: Daniel Wiroth

This is the most creative film i've ever seen! A incredible animation! Everyone should watch this unless you dont like the movie's creativity.
At 24 glasses per second, Jules the wine goblet and Pierre the beer mug face each other in a duel to conquer Laurence, the pretty champagne flute. It's an action film complete with breathless combats and amazing stunts where there is only one rule: DON'T GET BROKEN. But sometimes the heart is more fragile than glass.

Another MMMust see!
Very cute animation... With singing animals, only 1 same song, but 4 different feelings it can give you.
You have to watch it although a little bit short.

Uisss...I nearly forgot about this.
I´m about to finish Fragile, but I´ll download them all.
After seeing some wonderful Raoul Servais´ shorts I´ve decided to trust in your good cinematographic taste.
Thx a lot, auess.

Hei, just wanted to say that i just saw Daniel Wiroth's Fragile and it's really amazing. It's animation is technically great and it's story, although it's not bizarre or underground it's simple but effective.

Don't hesitate to download it. It sure deserves a look.
I was so impressed with its technique that I couldn't help myself trying to find Mr. Wiroth'es email to tell him how nice it's animation was. Hope he answers. I'll tell you if so.

It seems that he has been part of a Luxembourg's animation school named "Ecole Nationale des Arts Visuels de la Cambre à Bruxelles". We should begin taking a closer look on other director's from this school, shouldn't we?

Well, Mr Wiroth answered the mail I sent him and told me that
Daniel Wiroth escribió:I'm actually working on a new 26 minutes short
which is mixing animation and live action. It's a story about a man who
lives with his gloves and I think you'll hear about it next year. The film
is called "Elegant."
Sounds good, huh? :-)
