Larissa Shepitko is arguably the greatest post-war female filmmaker and certainly one of the finest modern Russian directors. She is sadly neglected because of her tragic early death at the age of 40 in a car accident and a relatively small output of films.

Shepitko's final film, which gained her the Golden Bear at Berlin in 1977 stands as her greatest achievement. A poetic masterpiece, with some truly breathtaking cinematography The Ascent depicts the plight of two doomed Soviet partisans in Nazi-occupied Byelorussia captured and tortured by Germans and their local collaborators. Shot in black and white against the stark beauty of a winter landscape The Ascent is a highly symbolic retelling of the crucifixion and witness to the suffering and sacrifice of ordinary people during wartime hostilities. The film has an unforgettable impact and transcendent emotional power.

No, no hay banda. El formato (incluyendo la banda de la derecha) es el del tamaño del archivo, pero no se que hago mal al capturar las imagenes con el bsplayer que las comprime horizontalmente

Elem Klimov, que era su marido, realizó poco antes de la muerte de Shepitko durante el rodaje de "Adiós a Matiora" (Prosscanie, 1981) un documental sobre ella: "Larisa" (1980).
Estoy buscando ambas películas, ¿alguien tiene noticias?.

No sé si te sirve, pero acabamos de lanzar "Adiós a Matiora" doblado en alemán. Por desgracia no hubo ni VO ni subtítulos ni nada en el DVD.
