Singapore Sling is chasing after Laura, a romantic memory from his past. One night he finds himself in a mysterious villa, watching two women bury a body. He falls into their trap and, in an atmosphere of isolation and decadence, the trio act out insane pleasure games and a ritual of blood and murder.

What do you get when you cross Preminger's LAURA with the Kuchar/McDowell brain-frier THUNDERCRACK!? Something that looks a lot like SINGAPORE SLING, one of the more demented European films of, well, ever. The story of a gut-shot Greek detective in search of a mysterious "Laura" who stumbles upon the house where she's living with her "mother" (who's probably neither that or female, for that matter) gets stranger by the turn, and does not shy away from bizarre sex, ultra-violence, and regurgitative gross-outs in the process. Filmed in beautiful black-and-white, it's a one-of-a-kind film, more purely noir than most noir retreads of recent years, yet far too demented to be considered merely noir. Viewers with strong stomachs seeking the ultra-outre will find this to their delight; all others had best shy away.

The Director's Comment...
When I was shooting "Singapore Sling", I was under the impression that I was making a comedy with some elements of Ancient Greek Tragedy. Later on, when some European and American critics characterized it as "one of the most disturbing films of all times", I started to feel that something was wrong with me. Then, when British censors banned its showing in British movie theatres, I realized that, after all, something must be wrong with all of us.

Synopsis :
Helen is not what one would call a “lucky girl.” She is actively seeking a sexual partner but attracts all the wrong guys, among them, rapists, a friend looking for a one-night stand, a perverted gynecologist, and other malcontents. Invariably, after having sex, her partner disappears, literally sucked up by her vagina. Helen starts to hear voices coming from her entrails. Her vulva asks her to feed it fresh meat. Overwhelmed by this terrible situation, she decides to become a prostitute in order to meet potential victims.

Filmed with much modesty (some furtive but erotic nude scenes), Penetration Angst is more like a dramatic black comedy than a voyeuristic exploitation movie. German director Büld made this an intelligent production. First of all, he gave actress Fiona Horsey total freedom to interpret the main character. The fact that she has a vacuum cleaner vagina is really uncommon, and Fiona has the talent to make this seem credible. She provides her character with a deep psychological background. She is physically easy on the eyes, and her nudity (while never completely nude) constitutes a great example of subtle eroticism. Büld had to choose what to show and what not to show, and he chose well. He knows exactly what story he wants to tell, and it's not just a stupid sexploitation flick, made for a quick buck; Penetration Angst goes far beyond all that.
