Review de Ashes of Time
He encontrado este nuevo ripeo de Ashes of Time en el emule y me lo he bajado y he podido comprobar que
no lleva subs incrustados en la imagen como los que habia posteados hasta ahora

Subtitulos:
Los subtitulos son los que hizo
morus para la versión con subs incrustados, pero sincronizados para esta versión. Ha sido un arduo trabajo ya que no era algo tan sencillo como aplicarle un retardo y listos. Algunas escenas duran unas décimas de segundo mas que en la otra versión, y eso hacía que tuviese que ir aplicando retardos a bloques de subtitulos aquí y allá ...
, un coñazo. También he añadido un par de frases que faltaban, para lo que me he ayudado de los subtitulos en italiano que circulan para esta versión.

Sobre esta edición del DVD
This is the international Cut of Ashes of Time , there is only 5min cut from the movie
any epilouge/prolouge to any of the characters is removed . It actually makes it a better movie IMO.
It actually gives the movie a sense of more sadness for the lives of these lost people.
because you don't know where they're headed and what will happen to them in this messed up world.
Oh , and Wong Kar Wai supervised this cut , so I guess you can say its the International Directors cut.
anyways this version is remastered and is the best looking version of this movie at this time.

a ver si por fín aparecen unos subs en español para esta pelicula, que es la uqe me queda por ver de este genio. de momento la dejo en pausa.

No soy un experto en lenguas chinas, así que pregunto ... ¿es la versión doblada al mandarín? Así me lo parece
En cuanto a la imágen, el listón lo dejarón muy bajo las anteriores ediciones, y esta nueva fracasa estrepitosamente y se ve un pelííín mejor. Hubiese hecho falta un Hermes para superar el reto:

¿es la versión doblada al mandarín? Así me lo parece
Siendo un DVD que creo que procede de italia (subs en italiano), me extrañaría que fuese una versión doblada a un idioma distinto del que se realizó.
Esos doblajes solo tienen sentido cuando son DVD para el mercado local chino, que creo que no es el caso.
Pero bueno, son solo suposiciones mias. Yo tampoco sabría distinguir el cantonés del mandarin.
Sobre la calidad de la imagen, evidentemente que deja mucho que desear, pero es lo que hay por ahora
Cuando haya un ripeo mejor, yo seré el primero en bajarmelo.
PD. Ya solo falta una semana para que cameo lance la trilogía de Wong Kar Wai:

La calidad (no la del ripeo, la del DVD) deja bastante que desear, me recuerda a las ediciones en DVD de Suevia y similares, de esas que parecen digitalizadas a partir de un VHS

Bajé una versión hace unos meses. Subtitulos incrustados en un idioma oriental que desconozo,como todos. Superpuse otros en inglés que encontré Dios sabe donde. Y a pesar de todo...Fascinante. Si el video está medio regular,a por ella otra vez.

Ashes of Time Redux, una nueva edición de la que no hay muchos detalles a cerca de las diferencias.

Dejo un extracto de un comentario que aclara algo, sacado de imdb:
According to Wong, 'Ashes of Time' negatives weren't in very good shape, and a search of various versions led him to a huge warehouse somewhere near San Francisco's Chinatown that contained the entire history of Hong Kong movies. He and his team put together various versions, adding a bit to what we already know, digitally cleaning up the images and "enhancing" some of the color and doing things with the sound, adding a new score and "re-arrangement" by Wu Tong including cello solos by Yo Yo Ma.
Experts will have to comb over all this to explain the differences. The cinematographer Christopher Doyle, who was present at the press screening of the film at the NYFF, doesn't like the enhancing of the color and neither do I. A lot of yellows and oranges are heightened, greenish-turquoise touches are set in, and many of the desert sand landscapes seem to have lost their surface detail. This seems unnecessary and even obtrusive, but it's not enough to spoil the experience. Other images simply look more pristine and clear. Wong wouldn't say what specific changes were made in the editing. He preferred to talk about how he adapted Louis Cha's novel and how this film relates to his oeuvre. Both for him and for Doyle it was an essential milestone. The cast features the late Leslie Cheung, both Tony Leungs (Chiu Wai and Ka Fai) and Jacky Cheung, and has Maggie Cheung as The Woman and martial arts film great Brigitte Lin as Murong Yin and Murong Yang, the sister and brother. Lin, now retired, was responsible for the revival of the genre and is central to this film, though Maggie Cheung is its diva, its dream lover.
No se si esta versión Redux equivale a la del ripeo de CHIU que pasaba por ser un montaje nuevo del director , además de remasterizado. Apostaría algo a que si, me imagino que aprovechando el trabajo que se hace para esa edición remasterizada (del DVD del ripeo de CHIU), se aprovecha para estrenarse en USA, ahora que WKW es más conocido allí.
