Hola,
Pues estaba leyendo hilo "colapso" y en otro hilo antiguo he visto que hablaba alguien de la perdida de un monton de bootlegs de Bruce Springteen. Asi que se me ocurre mandarle un mensaje para enseñarle una pagina. Bueno, pues antes de escribirlo me da por mirar la pagina en cuestion no fuera a ser que no haya un solo concierto de El Boss y quede como un primo, en fin:

We're very sorry having to tell you that we had to shut down EZT just a couple of minutes ago.

We got a call from our provider, they had received a few letters from a couple of lawyers. They requested EZT to be shut down immediately, otherwise we and the hosting service would be sued.

As you may imagine, we do not have the funds to fight a battle we most probably can't win anyway.

We would like to thank everyone here for their contributions to EZT, one way or the other, for sharing the music, sharing an ideal, for all your mails, rants, praises...

En serio, todavia no se cual es razonamiento para llevar a cerrar un sitio asi. Aqui solo se distribuia material que...
-O eran directos o material inedito, por tanto no hay manera de conseguirlo de la casa de discos oficial.
-O eran grabaciones sin copyrgiht.

En serio que no lo entiendo.

Y para mas inri me han dejado con un par de DVD a la mitad y monton de torrents sin bajar imposibles de conseguir por otros medios.

Si alguien me puede dar nombres de otras paginas para llenar el vacio...

Antes, las "copias pirata" de los músicos de rock eran precisamente cosas como ésas. Se pinchaban las mesas de sonido para extraer el audio de forma ilegítima, salían del estudio grabaciones inéditas... todo sin el consentimiento de la casa discográfica. Que el material distribuído no tenga copyright no significa que no sea "pirata". Los mandamases del negocio entienden como "ilegal" todo aquello que se hace sin su permiso.

No se a que te refieres con la primera frase, una "copia pirata" no es eso.
No existe una copia sacada de la mesa que no este autorizada (como la iban a hacer si no?), aunque es cierto que en ocasiones eran permitidas pero no para distribuirlas.
Si no tiene copy no pueden reclamarlo, tan sencillo como eso. Y hay muchas grabaciones que estaban echas antes de que firmaran ningun contrato o con sesiones de estudio pagadas por los propios musicos, asi que no hay nu¡inguna ilegalidad ahi.

Para muestra un boton: La filial alemana de EMI envio una carta al host de esta pagina diciendo que retiraran cierto material o de lo contrario irian a juicio. Ese contenido ilicito era un torrent del Reading Festival de 1992 de Nirvana, sin embargo lo unico que se pedia que retiraran era una cancion porque aparecia en un DVD comercial de EMI.
Como puedes ver aunque el artista tenga contrato y este interpretando canciones con copy, la grabacion no tiene "dueño" o si lo tiene no es EMI.

Hi again folks,

It may well be that U2 or other artists don't really care what their
fans do in regards to bootlegs. But if they have a deal with a major
label you bet their record company does.

The story so far: there is a lawyer office in Hamburg. For about two
years now, they are searching through the web for copyright violations
and send out letters (they are acting on behalf of a company in
Berlin, which got its authorization through IFPI Germany). Usually,
those letters are directed to the website owners. For reasons we don't
know, yet, they are now getting at our hosting service. Not just
because of EZT/DIME, but also because of other customers (the hosting
service's lawyer said they'd be getting letters weekly now). One
recent letter referred to a four year old post in a public forum which
contained a link to an MP3 file hosted on servers of our hosting
service. Four years! Most probably, the file is long gone history.

For all we know, the only thing this lawyer office is occupied with is
writing such letters. Because the boss of the office is the same than
one of the managers of the company in Berlin... there was a "nice"
story about him in a magazine last year or so.

At the moment, we're in touch with the hosting service's lawyer and
are trying to work out a solution.

Also, we will try to switch to another provider asap. What we need are
good machines and a high transfer volume at an affordable price. When
EZT was down, we already checked a couple of offers (also some from
offshore hosting services), but neither we nor you all can afford
20,000+ USD monthly running costs...
