Don Caballero - Don Caballero 2

Don Caballero 2 Don Caballero (Eac Mpc Hq) Ripped By Polvo.rar
Una breve reseña:
The liner notes speak it plain -- "Don Caballero is rock not jazz, Don Caballero is free from solos." But not from complex, ever evolving compositions that never, ever forget to crank up the amps and riff along. The post-rock canard that the group was labeled with somewhere along the line doesn't really make sense, and the math rock label is even more limiting -- too bloodless. If a comparison had to be made or a link established, try Drive Like Jehu, but without vocals. The Williams/Banfield guitar team knows exactly how to play off each other, trading notes, establishing parallel melodies, and hitting full crunch like an evolving beast. Che, meanwhile, sits behind it all and directs everything with equal power and skill. In mainstream terms, the Smashing Pumpkins' Jimmy Chamberlin got the '90s kudos for being a power rock drummer with the skills and fluidity of jazz, but Che is clearly equally skilled, as this album makes perfectly clear. An eight-track release, it splits evenly between shorter and longer pieces, each with amusing titles that established something of an indie rock cliché for later bands like Billy Mahonie. Thus, "Repeat Defender" and "Dick Suffers Is Furious With You," or the hilariously named concluding rip, "No One Gives a Hoot about FAUX-ASS Nonsense." The longer numbers are arguably the better -- not that the short ones stink, but over more time the group gets to showcase even more chops and abilities, often with thrilling results. When "Please Tokio, Please This Is Tokio" hits the midsection, everyone sounds incredibly on top of their game, slamming into a sheet-metal intense drone with fire. "Repeat Defender," meanwhile, builds into a gripping middle section, ripping at high speed before only slightly downshifting into something totally mosh pit worthy. Music with a brain that rocks, full stop. (de artistdirect.com)
El segundo:
Butthole Surfers - Independant Worm Saloon

Butthole.Surfers.Independant.Worm.Saloon(MPC.278Kbs+cover)by.pinpin.rar
Otra reseña:
After Pioughd's semi-misfire and Rough Trade's subsequent collapse, the Surfers were in a surprising position. Not only were they courted and signed to Capitol thanks to the Nirvana-led alternative explosion, they also got high-profile arranger and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones to produce the new album. When Saloon surfaced in early 1993, some accused the band of basically cloning Haynes' memorable collaboration with Ministry, "Jesus Built My Hot Rod," for the entire album. It's true that "Some Dispute Over T-Shirt Sales," simply takes the lyrics from that number and grafts it onto a quick rip from the band, but Saloon is far from a clone of Ministry or anything else. More energetic than the straggling Pioughd and benefiting from Jones' brilliant ear and tight, crisp arrangements, Saloon starts with the fierce "Who Was In My Room Last Night?"; from there, the Surfers tear through hilarious and strong numbers. Creating radio-friendly unit shifters was clearly the last thing on the band's mind, as numbers like "The Annoying Song," with Haynes sounding like what a radar dish would do if it could sing, and the wittily solemn acoustic ditty "The Ballad of Naked Man" demonstrate. The Surfers' taste for rude grostequerie surfaces throughout -- the foul "Chewin' George Lucas' Chocolate," the series of vomit sounds that conclude the record after "Clean It Up"'s heavy trudge and the extremely disturbing artwork are just a few examples. Combined with numerous examples of Surfer-mania at its finest -- the dipsomaniacal rager "Alcohol," the electric country hoedown "You Don't Know Me" and more -- and Saloon is that rarest of records, a major-label debut that surpasses the indie release preceding it.
Symphonica

ruins_-_symphonica_(album)_-_released_by_hyrk_(link_found_at_the-real-eselmetal.6x.to).rar
Reseña al canto:
Ruins are a Japanese band led by the prolific Yoshida Tatsuya, and on this album play a ferocious brand of Zeuhl with a strong keyboard presence. There are two vocalists along with Tatsuya, who is, fittingly enough for the leader of a Zeuhlish band, the drummer.
There is somewhat of a symphonic flair to this on top of what one might normally expect from a Zeuhl effort, as it sounds at times like a bit of Kenso or Ain Soph has crept into the sound. There are also fairly inaccessible tracks like "Thrive", where shouting voices battle with electronic effects for control over Tatsuya's percussive explosions; almost like the Kobaians at war with Tipographica.
This release, despite its name, is not for the symphonic prog fan. It sure grabbed me on first listen, though, and while parts of it can be a challenge I think it shows that when it comes to the progressive scene today, a lot of the best stuff is coming out of Japan. I hope to be able to explore more of this area in the future, and I'd recommend this album without hesitation to fans of the avant-garde. (De progreviews.com)
Tzomborgha

Ruins 2002 - Tzomborgha.rar
La última de todas:
Like some twisted version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" played by a collaboration between the Boredoms and the Bonzo Dog Band, Ruins' Tzomborgha is a fascinating and nerve-racking mix of back and forth shouting matches, falsetto vocables, and out-of-control bass and drum jams. Somehow the nonsense seems cohesive and, by the end, oddly coherent. With constantly changing time signatures, none of this could really be called catchy or accessible, but it is challenging and rewarding. Tracks like "Skhanddraviza" sound like prog rock from another dimension, with touches of King Crimson, Genesis, and Queen. "Pachtseills" sounds like the Minutemen played on a nursery-school turntable at the wrong speed. They even play a Black Sabbath medley and a Mahavishnu Orchestra medley. Sound confusing? It is. The fact that this Japanese noise band can be so off the wall yet so evocative of both arena rock favorites and iconoclastic punk makes no sense at all. But true to its name, Ruins manages to take the building blocks of fallen music genres and stack them into something totally new and unexpected.

Shannon McNally - Geronimo.rar
