Buenas, he leído muy buenas críticas de esta película, aunque no la he visto. No he encontrado subtítulos, a ver si con suerte aparece un audio o unos subtítulos. La película empieza con una voz en off y la imagen oscura, lo digo para los que al previsualizar vean esto no piensen que es algún problema del ripeo... se trata de un tren pasando bajo un túnel

SYNOPSIS
The mind of a hired assassin is probed and explored as he follows his intended victim through the streets of New York against a background of the Christmas season.
The Mind of the killer is examined as he meets with various problems. A voice explores his fears and driving anti-social hates. Also his feelings of emptiness and omnipotence and futility are so woven into the fabric of the story as to make a tragic hero of a murderer.
When he attempts to collect his money in an abandoned wind and snow swept fishing village on the outskirts of New York he is killed by those who hired him to kill.

Cine negro negrísimo. Me pareció muy buena la realización y la banda sonora y malos los intérpretes, lo que resulta curioso porque el realizador y el protagonista absoluto son la misma persona. Quizá debió quedarse a este lado de la cámara. De todos modos creo que la película vale la pena, y para los que se echen para atrás por el idioma les digo que aquí hablan más bien poco, con los subtítulos se sigue sin problemas.
Hay dos o tres canciones cuyas letras están subtituladas en los subs ingleses de partida. Las he dejado tal cual, sin traducir. Su contenido no es relevante para la trama y las letras de canción traducidas suelen resultar penosas.

After a less than pleasant encounter with Big Ralph (Larry Tucker), a rotund underground gun dealer, Bono begins casing out Troiano and discovers his target is out of town for a few days, giving him some time to kill. Bono bumps into a childhood friend who thinks he could use a friend and introduces Frankie to Lorrie (Molly McCarthy), but when she invites him to her flat for dinner, the evening doesn't go well and Bono feels more alienated than ever. While keeping tabs on Troiano, Bono runs into Big Ralph again, with consequences that put the hit man and his career in great danger. AMG REVIEW: A gritty crime film about lonely professional hit man Frank Bono (Allen Baron), Blast of Silence is interesting in its meticulous detail of the killer's work, a device that has been used in many crime films since. Most of the characters are hoodlums, except for a couple of friends that Frank meets from his past. His relationship with Lorrie (Molly McCarthy) doesn't go anywhere, while Frank's life seems like a completely solitary, friendless existence, where he's scared to get close to anyone and hasn't even bothered to come up with a cover as to what he does for work. The shots of New York in the early '60s are vivid and add to the film's somewhat authentic vibe. And Blast of Silence's end is very much in the tradition of the classic gangster film. -- Adam Bregman

NOTA: Una versión de pequeño tamaño pero con una calidad de imagen más que aceptable (a la hora de valorar la fotografía hay que tener en cuenta que se trata de una producción independiente de bajo presupuesto).
