This technicolor marvel was uploaded by joker01 to KG at my request. No subtitles, all the subs I've checked so far, even those who are declared "jungle book 1942", are the 1967 Disney version. I hope I'm not imagining anything, but is seems to me the panther Baheera in once scene spits out of contempt, and in another, when watching in exasperation the three villagers worshiping Mowgli, rolls his eyes. IMDB

Sinopsis:

Adaptación bastante libre de la célebre obra de Rudyard Kipling. Mowgli, un chaval que se ha criado en la selva entre animales, debe adaptarse al entorno humano. Y aunque el chico se esmera, algunos hábitos selváticos están muy arraigados.


Aquí os traemos otra película perfecta para las vacaciones. Serdar pidió en KG que alguien postease un DVDRip competente de esta película, una de las maravillas del technicolor, y lo cierto es que, aunque todavía no está a la altura de lo que la obra merecería (merecería un transfer Warner por lo menos), lo cierto es que está a años luz de todos los videos que había visto hasta ahora de la película, que probablemente sea de dominio público. Así pues, ¡gracias, Serdar!

Adaptación bastante libre de la célebre obra de Rudyard Kipling. Mowgli, un chaval que se ha criado en la selva entre animales, debe adaptarse al entorno humano. Y aunque el chico se esmera, algunos hábitos selváticos están muy arraigados.

Este film familiar de los Korda está protagonizado por Sabu, ese mozo de cuadra descubierto por el documentalista Robert Flaherty en Sabu, el de los elefantes, quien vuelve a mostrar una gran naturalidad a la hora de desenvolverse ante la cámara (DeCine21).

IMDb. Teenaged Mowgli, who was raised by wolves, appears in a village in India and is adopted by Messua. Mowgli learns human language and some human ways quickly, though keeping jungle ideas. Influential Merchant Buldeo is bigoted against 'beasts' including Mowgli; not so Buldeo's pretty daughter, whom Mowgli takes on a jungle tour where they find a treasure, setting the evil of human greed in motion.

AMG SYNOPSIS: The Jungle Book isn't always faithful to the Rudyard Kipling original (in fact, it seldom is), but 1942 audiences swept up in the grandeur of the production values and the lush Technicolor photography didn't mind at all. Indian juvenile-star Sabu plays Mowgli, who having been lost in the jungle as an infant has been raised by wolves. While he has no trouble conversing with his animal neighbors (whose voices aren't as ludicrous as you might think, though we never imagined that a snake could sound like Lionel Barrymore), Mowgli yearns to touch base with his human roots; thus, he returns to the native village whence he came. With the help of his jungle companions, Mowgli rescues his adoptive family, his natural mother (Rosemary DeCamp) and the rest of the humans from the greedy machinations of villains Joseph Calleia, John Qualen and Frank Puglia. Adapted for the screen by Lawrence Stallings and co-directed by Zoltan Korda and Andre De Toth, The Jungle Book scored a significant hit for its distributor United Artists, who really needed a smash at this point in time. The film would be remade (so to speak) as a Disney animated feature in 1967, and again as a live-actioner (with "politically correct" British villains) in 1994. -- Hal Erickson

Intentándolo con la versión Eclipse/Criterion aunque parece que va floja de fuentes.

Subs en castellano en Subdivx, subidos por proudmexica (muchas gracias). No sé si encajan o no para las distintas versiones aquí posteadas.

Aprovecho para decir que en general, la trilogía Eclipse no anda muy bien de fuentes, especialmente The Drum, que se encuentra sin ninguna. He pedido en Sharethefiles que la repongan.
